Oxford Student Arrested for Campus Shooting Threat
Threat in a social media chatroom warned of mass shooting on the quad at Oxford College campus of Emory University.

A student at Emory University’s Oxford College campus is accused of posting threats Sunday on social media regarding a mass shooting on the Oxford campus, according to 11Alive.
The message, posted on Yik Yak, reportedly read: “I’m shooting up the school. Tomorrow. Stay in your rooms. The ones on the quad are the ones who will go first.”
College students and staff across the country are on edge following a gunman’s attack Oct. 1 at Umpqua Community College in Oregon that killed 9 and injured 9 others.

Emory University Police arrested the student who made the local threats on Sunday, according to a statement. She has been charged with making terrorist threats against the university.
“Emory University is committed to providing a safe environment for all community members and will take swift and appropriate action to maintain the security of the campus community,” according to the statement.
