Person Of Interest In Killing Of GA Postal Worker In Custody: Report

The 31-year-old U.S. Postal Service worker was reportedly fatally shot while completing a route in Decatur.

ATLANTA, GA — Police have taken into custody a person of interest in connection with the deadly shooting of a U.S. postal worker last week in Decatur, according to a media report.

Postal worker Dequavious Graves, 31, was shot and killed around 7 p.m. Thursday while completing a route on Oxford Drive in Decatur, according to 11Alive previously.

A person of interest was arrested in Atlanta, WAGA-TV reported Tuesday. The FBI Atlanta office confirmed the arrest.

The person, who was not identified, was also being sought by Atlanta Police in connection with another killing, the news outlet reported.

Video from a nearby home showed the suspect opened fire on Graves' mail truck. Investigators are trying to determine if he was specifically targeted, WSB-TV reported.

The U.S. Postal Inspection Service offered a reward of up to $250,000 for anyone with information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the suspect in Graves' death.

Official charges have not been announced.
