Police Investigating Attempted Armed Robbery Thursday Night in Decatur

The victims, 15 and 16 years old, were approached by two men at Church Street and Forkner Drive, demanding their money and cell phones.

DECATUR, GA — Police are investigating an armed robbery Thursday night at Church Street and Forkner Drive.

The two victims, age 15 and 16, told police they were walking in the intersection's crosswalk around 11 pm when two men approached them from behind.

The victims said both of the suspects started shouting, "Give me your phone, and your wallet!" One suspect was initially pointing a handgun at the ground. The victims told police they started crying and shouting, "No please don't!".

The armed suspect then pointed the gun at them. The victims continued screaming until the suspects fled on foot on Forkner Drive. No one was injured.

One suspect is described as a black male, 17-19 years old, light complexion, approximately 5'11" tall, no facial hair, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, white shoes and armed with a black handgun. The other suspect is described as a black male, approximately 17-19 years old, medium complexion, approximately 5'11'' tall, obese, short hair and wearing a red t-shirt.
