Activists Attack State Employees On Lunch At DeKalb County Park: Report
State employees were eating lunch at Intrenchment Creek Park when a large group came out of the woods attacking and vandalizing their SUV.
DEKALB COUNTY, GA — Two state employees on lunch break were attacked by a large group of activists at a DeKalb County park, reported WAGA-TV.
Officials with the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice told the news station that the group went after two transportation officers on Wednesday in the middle of their lunch break at South River Trail Intrenchment Creek Park. They were inside of an SUV when the group began slashing their tires and breaking their windows. No one was hurt.
"They said about 60 or 70 people came out of the woods wearing camouflage clothing, masks," Commissioner Tyrone Oliver told WAGA-TV.

According to "The Stop the Swap, Save Intrenchment Creek Park" Facebook group, activists have been protesting land that is proposed for a filming studio.
Intrenchment Creek Park is a 136 acre public park in south DeKalb County, inside Atlanta's I-285, according to its website. "Forty acres of the park, including urban forest, are at risk of private development via a land swap between DeKalb County and Blackhall Studios. Together we can #stoptheswap and save our beautiful public land."

Decide DeKalb Development Authority unanimously approved a $68 million tax incentive package that will help Blackhall Studios, a 1,500-acre filming and production studio, become the largest film of its kind in the state, reported the Atlanta Business Chronicle.
Decide DeKalb leaders told the Atlanta Business Chronicle that the investment would be one of the largest ever in South DeKalb County. They said it would bring higher paying job and industry growth for the community.
