Suspect Sought in Five-Year-Old DeKalb Girl's Assault, Kidnapping

The girl was found wandering around a Memorial Drive shopping center on Friday afternoon.

DEKALB COUNTY, GA — Police are looking for a man wanted in connection with a five-year-old's kidnapping and sexual assault that took place Friday afternoon.

Police found the girl wandering around the Value Mall on Memorial Drive in unincorporated Stone Mountain, reports Fox 5. She told police she had been picked up by a man at the Clifton Glen Apartments on Hambrick Road.

Police took the child to a local hospital, where they learned about the abuse.

While the girl was with police, the girl's mother called police to tell them her daughter was missing, according to WSB.

Police have come up with a description of the suspect: a light-skinned black man in his early 20s with long red hair tied into a ponytail. He also has a long beard. He is believed to be in an early 2000s model gray Hyundai hatchback.
