Two Convicted in DeKalb Shooting of Navy Vet

Laquan Taylor was shot and paralyzed during the robbery at a Kroger on Moreland Avenue.

DECATUR, GA — Two men have been sentenced to serve 15 years in prison for a 2015 shooting that left a Navy veteran paralyzed.

Javon Ross and Victor Moore were arrested and pled guilty to the shooting that paralyzed Laquan Taylor, reports WSB. The robbery happened at a Kroger on Moreland Avenue in DeKalb County.

The men received their sentence on Tuesday in Decatur.

Both men agreed to a plea deal.

Taylor's family and the district attorney agreed Tuesday afternoon to a plea deal for Ross and Moore.

"Nothing can give me back the life I had before this horrible evening, but seeing justice served will certainly give me a sense of closure," Taylor said.
