UGA Student Charged In Roquan Smith Robbery
Athens-Clarke County Police say they also found a jersey that the 20-year-old student had stolen from a UGA lacrosse player.

ATHENS, GA — A University of Georgia student has been charged in the theft of items including a helmet and National Championship Game jersey from NFL-bound Bulldogs star linebacker Roquan Smith.
Landyn Shame Durham, 20, is charged with felony entering of an automobile. Warrants for his arrest were signed in Athens on Thursday and he turned himself in to the Clarke County Sheriff's Office soon afterward, according to Athens-Clarke County Police Department spokesman Epifanio Rodriguez.
Police say Durham also broke into a second vehicle owned by a UGA athlete early Saturday morning, when Smith's 2017 jersey, jerseys he wore in the Rose Bowl and National Championship Game, his UGA helmet and an iPad owned by his new team, the Chicago Bears, were stolen.

Durham was released from Clarke County Jail shortly after 2 a.m. on Friday, after posting a $20,000 bond.
According to an Athens-Clarke County Police Department report, the items stolen from Smith's car some time between 5 p.m. Friday and 11:30 a.m. on Saturday included:
- Smith's 2017 UGA football helmet
- his 2017 UGA football jersey
- his jersey worn in the 2017 Rose Bowl
- his jersey worn in the 2017 National Championship Game
- an iPad belonging to the Chicago Bears
- a UGA "Athlete of the Year" trophy
- four pairs of headphones
- two watches
- a Bluetooth speaker
- sunglasses
- Nike athletic shoes
Earlier this week, police said all the items except the iPad had been recovered. Some were found in Durham's apartment in Athens, police said, and the rest was found after he led them to it in Summerville, his hometown in west Georgia.
After helping lead the Bulldogs' to a 13-2 record and the national-title game as a junior, Smith announced in January that he would leave UGA early and declared himself eligible for the NFL Draft. As expected, he was a first-round pick and became the draft's first linebacker off the board when the Bears selected him at No. 8 on April 26.
