"Walking Dead" May Be Filming in The Golden Isles
The same company that films "The Walking Dead" and "Fear The Walking Dead" will be shooting on Jekyll Island in mid-August.

The production company that films AMC's "The Walking Dead" and "Fear The Walking Dead" will be shooting on Jekyll Island's Driftwood Beach in mid-August.
But there's been no official word, according to the Brunswick News, exactly what show will be filmed on location by Stalwart Films.
Stalwart Films also is responsible for other productions shot in Georgia, including "Turn" and “Halt and Catch Fire.”

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources Coastal Resources Division has given permission for Stalwart Films to film on the beach and nearby marshland. One scene reportedly involves four cast members on a beach with “a human corpse half buried in a small tidal pool.”
“Further down the beach, another person is washed ashore alive and carried to a drier section of the beach. After being revived, the survivor slips away from the rescuers while they are distracted and is seen moving inland past the wrack line," the request stated.

The second scene will be shot along the east side of Riverview Drive with an actor walking through a marsh.
While "The Walking Dead" is shot primarily in and around the town of Senoia, "Fear The Walking Dead" is set in southern California, and has featured several scenes of zombies rising from ocean tides and staggering along beaches.
Georgia's film industry made a lot of headlines earlier this year during the raging debate over HB 757, the controversial religious liberty/anti-gay bill that was approved by the Georgia General Assembly and would have allowed faith-based groups to refuse services or terminate employees based on sexual orientation.
Gov. Nathan Deal vetoed the bill in the face of massive opposition, including the Hollywood film industry which repeatedly threatened to pull out of Georgia should Deal sign the bill.
AMC joined an entertainment-industry chorus calling for Deal to veto the proposal. Disney and its Marvel Studios also said they would stop filming movies in Georgia if Deal signed the bill.
