Armed Escapee Cooks Breakfast in Restaurant Break-In
Watch the man police say fled from a South Carolina prison work crew to East Point, Georgia, grab a snack behind the bar.
EAST POINT, GA -- An inmate who escaped from prison in South Carolina is back in custody after being caught on video 230 miles away at a Mexican restaurant in East Point, Georgia.
The video shows Zachery Lee Reaves, who escaped from a prison work crew, strolling behind the bar at El Rocio Mexican Restaurant, brandishing a handgun and even stopping to snack on some food that was left on the bar, police say.
But that wasn't all the chowing down Reaves allegedly did at El Rocio.

The restaurant's owner told an Atlanta TV station that Reaves appeared to have gone into the kitchen, stolen the restaurant's stash of eggs and cooked them up for a late night-early morning meal.
A separate video appears to show Reaves in a classroom at a private school in York County, South Carolina.

Investigators say that after Reaves escaped from a work crew, he stole a gun, cash and ammunition from the school, then traveled to East Point.
The 26-year-old Reaves escaped from Catawba Pre-Release Center, in Rock Hill, South Carolina, on January 25.
“We can't find any connections to our city -- no family, no friends, no history," East Point Police Lt. Allyn Glover told WSB-TV in Atlanta.
Two nearby businesses -- a tool shop and animal clinic -- also have reported multiple burglaries.
At the animal clinic, Rambo, a 9-month-old guard dog, was shot and killed. Police say Reaves is the main suspect in that crime.
East Point Police arrested Reaves on Friday and say he may be responsible for as many as a dozen crimes in the East Point area. Police in South Carolina are working to extradite him back to the state.
He was serving an eight-year prison sentence for burglary and had a release date set in 2017.
