Weather Alert for Atlanta Region
Heavy rain brings the potential for flooding Tuesday and Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Wet weather is expected to stick around for most of Wednesday, possibly bringing dangerous flooding conditions.
A flood watch will be in effect from Tuesday morning until Wednesday evening for the Atlanta metro area and more communities in north Georgia (see the complete list below).
Around 2 inches of rainfall is expected, with isolated higher amounts near 3 inches possible on the north Georgia ridgelines, according to the National Weather Service.

“Soils remain moist from the well above average rainfall during the first half of November,” according to the NWS alert.
Persistent rainfall after 12 hours will have greater runoff potential to cause flooding from creeks and small rivers, according to the weather service. Several creeks are rivers are projected to reach or go a foot above flood stage.

Expect drainage issues due to leaf debris and clogged drains, potentially flooding some streets.
