Woman Shot in Domestic Dispute Over Baby

DECATUR, GA — A woman was shot early Tuesday morning in a domestic dispute over a 7-month-old baby.

The incident began when the woman came to get the child at her ex-boyfriend's house, according to 11 Alive. When the father refused, the woman called a male friend, and he and the father got into an argument.

One of the men then fired several shots at a parked car in front of a home on the street, and then fired more shots into a nearby group of people. That's when the woman, 22, was shot in the buttocks.

She was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say the victim is not the child's mother. Her male friend is the only suspect in the incident.
