3 Injured In Massive Apartment Blaze In Duluth
Of the 28 apartments, fire officials said 26 of them were impacted by the fire in Duluth.

DULUTH, GA — Several people were displaced, and three people were injured, after flames erupted at a 28-unit apartment building Monday night in Duluth, fire officials said Tuesday.
Smoke and fire consumed a building at Cortland Duluth Apartments in the 1300 block of Herrington Road Northwest, Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services said.
Flames burst around 11:45 p.m. Fire officials said they responded after receiving multiple reports of smoke entering apartments.

When they arrived, they said they found smoke and fire coming from a lower-level apartment of the multi-story building. They said they also discovered several people were trapped on the upper floors due to fire conditions.
Firefighters used ladders to reached the trapped residents, and they were safely rescued, fire officials said. Three people had to evaluated and treated before being released at the scene, they added.

Crews gained control of the fire around 1:30 a.m., and no additional injuries were reported, fire officials said.
Of the 28 apartments, fire officials said 26 of them were impacted by the fire. The American Red Cross and property management assisted the displaced residents.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
