• Meet the Gwinnett County teachers of the year for 2028 (thegeorgiasun.com) — Duluth schools are celebrating standout educators, with Duluth High naming Lisa McKay and Duluth Middle honoring Anthony Baglio as their 2028 Teachers of the Year. They're among more than 150 Gwinnett County teachers recognized by colleagues and now move into a countywide selection process that will culminate in a January 2027 banquet and a districtwide top teacher.

Arlene Beckles Participates in 'Stop School Shootings' Film Premiere in Duluth (house-press.com) — A new school-safety film, "Stop School Shootings," just premiered at the Gas South Convention Center in Duluth, highlighting how counselors, teachers, and parents can spot warning signs before violence occurs. Local Rep. Arlene Beckles tied the event to recent Georgia school safety laws and pledged to push for more funding, mental health staffing, and weapons-detection measures that could affect Gwinnett and Duluth-area schools.
• beabadoobee's New Album 'Pylon': Tracklist, Features, Producers, and Everything You Need to Know (complex.com) — Beabadoobee's new album "Pylon" drops tomorrow and she'll bring its heavier, live-band sound to Duluth's Gas South Arena on October 14. The record features guests like Hayley Williams and Brendan Yates, and the fall Powerlines Tour will be her first headlining arena run, giving local fans a rare chance to see a big-production show close to home.
