Bank Robbery With Note Yields No Money

The robber told the teller he was armed, but fled when the teller pushed a panic button.

DULUTH, GA — A robber in a skull cap and necktie attempted unsuccessfully to rob a bank with a note in Duluth on Wednesday.

At about 10:45 a.m., the man walked into the Bank of America at 2724 Meadow Church Rd. and passed a note to the teller saying he wanted money, according to Gwinnett County Police.

The note told the teller not to put a dye pack in with the money and said the robber was armed.

He then moved his hand to his hip as if to suggest he was armed with a concealed weapon.

But, as the teller reached for the panic alarm, the robbery quickly grabbed the note and walked out of the bank with nothing, police said.

A witness reported seeing a yellow passenger car, possibly the getaway car, parked outside the bank during the incident.

The robber was described only as a black male, wearing a gray shirt, dark skullcap and dark necktie.
