Patch is looking for a local writer and entrepreneur to take the helm of the Duluth Daily. Although I have loved getting to know this community, we want to pass the torch to someone truly local to write about Duluth long term. So if you're interested in earning extra income while making this newsletter a more valuable resource for your neighbors, learn more and apply here.

First, today's weather:

Low clouds may break; warm. High: 75 Low: 60.

Here are the top three stories today in Duluth:

  1. This week, Gov. Brian Kemp signed legislation to push up elections for the Gwinnett County Board of Education from November to May 24. Kemp's legislation also makes county school board elections nonpartisan. Voters will decide who will occupy two Board seats for the new term. While several candidates have announced their intent to run, the full array of candidates will not be announced until Mar. 11. (Subscription: The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
  2. Ever wonder how much it costs to hire someone to clean your home in Duluth? According to Thumbtack, the average home cleaning service in the greater Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Roswell area is $70 per hour. If you're looking for Duluth-area pros to help with your household chores, check out some reviews of services like Spot Of Perfection Cleaning, Leal Cleaning, and Walters Prestige Cleaning LLC. 3. If you've ever wanted to launch a career in music, now may be the perfect time: Duluth-based Atlanta Institute of Music and Media has announced that its Certificate in Music Production program is now enrolling students for an entirely-online learning experience. The program includes 17 courses (36 credit hours) taught by AIMM's Music Production faculty and staff and can be completed in as little as nine months. Students can also enroll part-time and take six credit hours at a time to earn their certification in 18 months. (Digital Journal)
