Bus Lane Dedicated to Chattahoochee Elementary School's First Principal
As Jane Coomer rode down the lane for the first time, the entire school filled both sides of the lane and cheered her.
“Coomer Cove,” the Bus Lane at Chattahoochee Elementary School in Duluth, was dedicated to the school’s very first principal Jane Coomer Monday, May 20. As Ms. Coomer rode down the lane for the first time, the entire school filled both sides of the lane and cheered her.
Jeff Lee, Chattahoochee ES's current principal, gave a touching speech about how Ms. Coomer's guidance and dedication helped build the school, not only from the ground up, but into the dynamic school that it is today. The school opened in the fall of 1989.
Ms. Coomer spent 14 years as the school’s principal and continues to volunteer there in her retirement.
