Here are the top stories today in Duluth:

  1. An exclusive Andrew Lloyd Webber musical is coming to the Aurora Theatre starting this week. The title of the musical is called "Song and Dance," and our local theatre is one of a few allowed by producers to perform the musical. Get your tickets while you can! (Gwinnettdailypost.com)
  2. Gwinnett County firefighters are partnering with a local used car parts dealer, Pull-A-Part, for some quality extrication training that they would not be able to receive without this business being involved. Pull-A-Part has donated many used cars for firefighters to train with, and the business says that they will continue to be involved to make a positive difference in the community.   3. The Gwinnett County animal shelter is offering free adoptions for one month starting today until September 19 in an effort to "Clear the Shelters." An event on September 18 will be held at the shelter to help with the initiative. (Atlanta Journal Constitution)
  4. While being quarantined in her basement from exposure to COVID-19, a mother of four in nearby Buford was killed in a house fire early Wednesday morning. The babysitter on duty was able to rescue all four children. It is unclear as to what started the fire. (WSB Atlanta)
  5. In an effort to make use of Gwinnett Place Mall, there are now plans to move forward into making the retired mall into a multi-use facility.
