Child, 4, Drowns in Gwinnett Pool: Reports

The boy reportedly wandered away from an apartment and was found unresponsive in the water.

DULUTH — A 4-year-old has died after he was found unresponsive in an apartment swimming pool.

Authorities have not released the child's name. Family identified the boy as Precious Basulama, according to WSB2.

The boy was found face down in the community pool at Landmark at Bella Vista Apartments in Duluth, according to the AJC. He'd reportedly wandered out of his apartment and into the pool area.

Fire and emergency crews responded at 4:20 p.m. CPR was already in progress. The child was transported to Gwinnett Medical Center-Duluth, where he was pronounced dead.
