Here are the top stories today in Duluth:
- There is an official search underway for a man accused of robbing a CVS Pharmacy in Lilburn on November 1st. Allegedly, the suspect approached an employee that was working at the cash register and demanded money from them. As soon as the man retrieved the money, he fled the scene and has not been seen since then. (CBS46 News Atlanta)
- The Gwinnett County Corrections office is going to host another Career Fair this Saturday. They are currently on the search for a few correctional officers to fill vacancies in local prisons. (Gwinnettdailypost.com)
- Gwinnett County has planned a Gwinnett Place Mall input meeting at Berkmar High School on November 10. This meeting is open to the public encouraging a "Meeting in a Box" style session. The session contains a script and questions to help facilitate the discussion around what to do with the vacant space. The meeting should be no more than one hour and 15 minutes. However, the event will be held from 6 PM until 8 PM because there needs to be time to prepare for the meeting and dinner will be served. (Atlanta Journal Constitution)
- A new bachelor's degree program at Georgia Gwinnett College will allow students to keep the credits that they have earned and finish the degree that they started. This new degree is called the Bachelors of Integrative Studies (BIS), and it is a multi-disciplinary program that requires students to complete three major concentrations, or two concentrations and a minor, ultimately giving them the skills to compete for a wide range of career paths. - The family of Army veteran, Desmond Font, is asking for the public's help in finding out who left him on the side of a street during a hit-and-run incident. The 29-year old Army vet was killed in October in a hit-and-run on Cruse Road in Lawrenceville. Officials have gathered the surveillance video from the area that night. They are asking for the public to report any information on this case to them. (WSBTV)
