Duluth Actress, Model Shot To Death in Atlanta

DULUTH, GA -- An up-and-coming actress and model from Duluth was shot and killed in Atlanta over the holiday weekend, police say.

Jokisha "Kisha" Brown appeared to have been shot multiple times when police found her body on Cheshire Bridge Road in Atlanta Friday night. The Gwinnett Daily Post and other media sources identified Brown as the victim in the shooting, reported by the Atlanta Police Department.

Police say they were called to 2100 Cheshire Bridge Rd. at 10:10 p.m. on Friday. There, they found a body with multiple gunshot wounds in the back of a black vehicle.

EMS and fire department units arrived and confirmed there were no signs of life.

Atlanta Police said Tuesday that the investigation into the shooting is ongoing.

According to her IMDB profile, Brown had appeared in a handful of short films and had worked or was working on several yet-to-be-released feature films.

Comedian Lil Duval posted a photo of himself and Brown on Instagram. Both are originally from Jacksonville, Florida. He tagged the photo with the hashtag #thefirstgirlithoughtwasbeautiful.

Brown's death is the second involving gun violence to hit her family recently.

In March, Brown's brother, Marlon, was shot and killed in the parking lot of a nightclub in Jacksonville.
