Eddie Owen Presents Jamie Lynn Vessels Band + Steff Mahan

Live @ Red Clay Music Foundry Saturday, August 1st @ 8:00pm TIX: https://public.ticketbiscuit.com/EddieOwenPresents/Events/237134

Jamie Lynn Vessels, originally from Raleigh, NC, exploded onto the music scene in late 2012. With an unusual start, she began her career by jumping feet-first into the studio to record an album with world-class musicians and a top-notch production crew. Supported all the while by CSB/Roxy Music, an organization dedicated to helping independent artists, Jamie has made New Orleans, LA her new home, and has settled nicely into the local scene playing a refreshing and intoxicating mix of blues, rock, and Americana folk. With regular gigs at NOLA hotspots, support from New Orleans musicians and natives, local and out-of-state shows, rave reviews, and an ever-increasing fan base, watch out for more news and dates from Jamie in the future.

When Jamie Lynn Vessels takes the stage, this 6 ft. tall brunette commands attention. No matter what your musical taste, her voice and presence will capture you. She may be rockin’ cowboy boots, but her music is far more than country. Jamie’s music is soulful, bluesy, and a lot of rock ‘n’ roll.

Jamie graduated with a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice, but soon felt a calling to another way of life. She traveled to Louisiana from her home town in North Carolina and decided to explore her undeniable passion for all things musical. This newcomer exploded onto the music scene with rave reviews at open mics and acoustic shows, quickly heading into the studio to record 15 of her original songs.

Her ability to weave beautiful stories through her intricate lyrics and sweet, folksy strings stems from her own life experiences as well as everyday human observation. We all strive for the same out of this life: to be loved, to be healed, and to have some fun along the way. Jamie Lynn Vessels believes this can be done through music, and her music is exactly that--a reflection of human nature, its resilience and its celebrations.

Jamie wrapped recording of her FIRST full-length album and EP at the start of 2013. She released her first EP on March 8th, 2013 and first full-length album on May 24th, 2013

Sweet and soulful is the sound of Nashville based singer/songwriter Steff Mahan. With a voice that is pure and powerful and lyrics that are heart-crafted and rock-solid, it’s hard to not get hooked on the emotional truth that comes out of this born songwriter’s mouth.

Mahan’s entertaining Americana mix of rock, roots, folk and country has generated five albums, including her most recent release, Where I’m Coming From, her first studio release since signing with the Nashville record label Century Music Group (CMG) in early 2013.

Performing approximately 200 hundred dates a year, Mahan has graced the stages of such notable venues as Atlanta’s Eddie’s Attic, Nashville’s The Bluebird Cafe, NYC’s The Bitter End, Charlotte’s The Evening Muse, and Birmingham’s Workplay Theater. She has shared the stage with such big name artists as Patty Griffin, The Indigo Girls, Tift Merritt, 10,000 Maniacs, Blame Sally, Holly Williams and Antigone Rising.

Equally at home performing on a festival stage in front of thousands of people or tucked into the corner of an intimate living room private house concert, Mahan plays music because she loves it and because she wants to share this love with others. It is exactly this desire that allows her to captivate an audience; to take them on an intimate tour of her music; to stay long after her shows talking to everyone and to call nearly every person she meets a friend.
