Eddie Owen Presents A MUSCLE SHOALS MUSIC REVUE featuring AMY BLACK - Album Release
Live @ Red Clay Music Foundry Friday, July 24th @ 8:00pm TIX: https://public.ticketbiscuit.com/EddieOwenPresents/Events/236771
Singer/songwriter Amy Black is based in Boston, but has Southern soul in her blood. With two critically acclaimed albums of original music to her name, she was inspired to create this revue show after recording a four-song EP last summer in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, her family’s homeland, with Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, Spooner Oldham. In January 2015, Amy returned to Fame Recording Studios in Muscle Shoals with an all-star band to turn the EP into a full-length album, featuring Spooner Oldham, Charles Rose of the Muscle Shoals Horns, Regina and Ann McCrary of the McCrary Sisters and Alabama born Will Kimbrough. The “Muscle Shoals Sessions” album, which includes classic covers and new originals, will be released June 9, 2015, kicking off an extensive national tour of “A Muscle Shoals Music Revue.”
American Songwriter Magazine calls Amy Black “a powerful, authentic, talented and above all soulful new entry in the rootsy singer/songwriter ranks;” while the Philadelphia Inquirer calls her “ an appealing cross between Bonnie Raitt and Mary Chapin Carpenter” Amy has shared stages with Rodney Crowell, Emmylou Harris, Delbert McClinton, Chris Isaak, Suzy Boggus, Joey Ely and many others. Her seamless blend of all things Americana, coupled with her soulful vocals and gift for bringing characters to life through song, make her an artist that pleases lovers of blues, soul and country alike.
