Good day, neighbors! Lyndsay Kendall Oxley here with your brand-new Duluth Daily.

Mostly sunny. High: 67 Low: 43.

Here are the top stories today in Duluth:

  1. Today is the last day to vote for City Council! Duluth has council seats 3 and 4 open to competition, and every resident should have their voice heard. (Gwinnettdailypost.com)
  2. Gwinnett residents can finally recycle their hard-to-get-rid-of items at the America Recycles Day event. This event will be taking place Saturday morning from 9 AM-12 PM at Coolray Field. Everyone who attends will have an opportunity to drop off items that are typically more difficult to recycle including electronics, tires, clothing, sneakers, and latex and oil-based paint. Paper shredding will also be available. (Atlanta Journal Constitution)
  3. There is an active invitation to bid on the new Duluth Multi-Corridor Landscaping Project until November 30 at 2PM. This new bid project hopes to provide many furnishing materials, labor, equipment, and more for some much-needed landscaping improvements along Pleasant Hill Road and Peachtree Industrial Boulevard right outside of Downtown Duluth. (Gwinnettdailypost.com)
  4. Road work is about to begin soon on Barnwell Road at Holcomb Bridge Road in Johns Creek after recent approval of contracts to fix the heavily-trafficked area. This fix will dramatically improve the traffic surrounding the area. The funds for this are coming out of the T-SPLOST for Johns Creek. (Atlanta Journal Constitution)
  5. Over the weekend, officials sieged about 200 kilograms of methamphetamine in a Duluth home. Four people were arrested two of them are from Gwinnett County. (Patch)
