Fitness for Life

Everyone wants to be healty and fit. If you are 18 years of age, that may mean the 6 pack abs or the ability to dunk a basketball. If you are 40 something it may mean the ability to run a 5K or longer, and if you are a 60 or more, it may mean the ability to carry your groceries from the car to the kitchen or plant your vegetable garden.
Whatever your goals, there should be 4 Pillars or main components to be as fit and healthy as possible: 1- a healthy, balanced diet, 2- Cardiovascular exercise, 3 - some form of muscular resistance training, and 4- some form of stretching/flexibility exercise.  Of course, the type, intensity and duration of exercises will be based on several factors including your current level of fitness and ability, and you may need to get your doctor's guidance before you begin a new program.
We will talk about this and more in the days to come.
