1) Our new library is now open! Gwinnett County Public Library has moved its Duluth location to Main Street right across from the graveyard. The new location will have a 3D printer, sewing machines, and an area for coding. With amenities like these, everyone is sure to thrive here! (CBS46)
2) Have you ever taken a sick day from school? Brookwood High graduate, Justin Waters hasn't! In his 13 years of education, Waters has been at school every single day. His motto is, "suit up and show up" (WSBTV)
3) This year's senior class has battled almost two years navigating through the COVID-19 pandemic and online learning. After this hectic year, Gwinnett County Public Schools has 13,000 students graduating to move forward with their lives! Congrats Class of 2021! (Gwinnett Daily Post)
4) Georgia homeowners can qualify for $3,252 per year in this new mortgage relief program. This comes as pandemic relief stimulus efforts. (Patch)
5) If you are planning on going to Lake Lanier for Memorial Day this weekend, keep in mind there are some rules you have to remember! There has already been an uptick in the number of deaths that have happened at the lake this year, and officers say remembering the rules of the road is the way to stay the safest this summer. Staying to the right side of the channel, wearing life vests, and proper boat maintenance are just a few ways to help stay the safest! (AJC)

My name is Lyndsay Oxley, and I have lived in the District at Duluth for about three years now. If you recognize my name and face, it is probably because you've seen me around Parson's Alley at Good Word Brewing. I am there every weekend serving tables, while during the week I am an ESOL teacher at Radloff Middle School. I love Duluth's everything from the diversity, great food and drinks, and the warming culture. I hope that I can continue to keep you reading every day, and if you enjoy reading it, please tell your friends!
