Here are the top stories in Duluth today:

  1. A missing 70-year-old Snellville woman named Maihue Welshans was last seen on Tuesday in the Atlanta area. There are no specifics on where she was last seen, but she was described to be wearing all pink clothing with black shoes. If you have seen this woman, be sure to contact our local authorities. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
  2. Redistricting in Georgia could potentially leave Carolyn Bourdeaux and Lucy McBath as competitors in the 7th district. Both of these ladies intend to run again in 2022, and with the area becoming more and more progressive, it leaves them as potential competitors for the coming election. (Atlanta Journal Constitution)
  3. Police are investigating a deadly hit-and-run that happened on Sunday on Cruse Road, north of Paden Drive in Lawrenceville. Even though officials said that the victim's wounds were consistent with a car crash, the death is still pending further investigations. (11Alive.com WXIA)
  4. The City of Duluth is planning to widen and connect the sidewalk on Rogers Bridge Road near Peachtree Industrial Boulevard. This project is coming after the recent approval of Gwinnett's Western Gwinnett Bikeway that will run through this area. Officials believe it is critical for the safety of bike riders to widen the sidewalk in this area. (Atlanta Journal Constitution)
  5. Gwinnett police are now assisting GCPS in investigating multiple threats that were made on social media against two different local schools. (Gwinnettdailypost.com) This article is behind a paywall.
