Here are the top three stories today in Duluth:

  1. As gas prices in Duluth and across the state continue to skyrocket as a result of the war in Ukraine, Governor Brian Kemp has announced that he will temporarily suspend Georgia's gas taxes. According to the Governor, the taxes will be suspended through May 31 as soon as HB 304 is signed. The announcement comes as the Atlanta metro area saw its highest prices ever on record Wednesday, around $5 a gallon. (WSB Atlanta)
  2. On Tuesday night, the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of 65 people in a county-wide sting operation to crack down on drugs, guns, and more. Operation One Star involved 95 deputies and eight crime scene analysts and targeted areas in Gwinnett County with high crime percentages, according to a press release. Many of the 267 suspects deputies encountered were reportedly found to be in possession of narcotics, cash, and drug paraphernalia. In addition to making 65 arrests, the Sheriff's Office obtained 155 arrest warrants were obtained, and issued nearly 190 citations. (CBS 46 News)
