First, today's weather:

Some brightening and warmer. High: 74 Low: 61.

Here are the top stories in Duluth today:

  1. Amidst the pandemic and the shift to online learning, some students have experienced learning losses. In the coming weeks, Gwinnett Public Schools will attempt to close this gap by offering more than 30 tutoring services to students. These efforts come in cooperation with added focus on enhancing classroom time and accelerating learning. Some students and teachers observe progression with the pursuit of intensive support. (The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
  2. Duluth's Gas South Arena will host the kickoff stop of the ECHL's 2022 Kelly Cup Tour this Friday, Feb. 25. The tour will hit eight ECHL cities, with the coveted Patrick J. Kelly Cup traveling over 7,800 miles over 50 days and making appearances at games, schools, sponsors, radio and television stations, and community events. The championship games will begin after the final tour stop on Apr. 20. (ECHL.com)
  3. Looking for a new local job? Plenty of Duluth-area employers are hiring across multiple job functions, including customer service, warehousing, logistics, garments, and more. If you don't want to commute, there are also remote employment opportunities available. (Duluth Patch)
