🌱 Gwinnett Government Changes On Pause + Food Drive

Here are the top stories in Duluth today:

  1. Suwanee is looking for artists for its seventh annual installment of the city's SculpTour. Artists may submit up to three original sculptures for consideration. Every selected artist will receive a stipend of up to $1,750 per sculpture and will be eligible to win other cash awards. (Gwinnettdailypost.co)
  2. The Gwinnett medical examiner has put out a statement to explain why she didn't call authorities over the concerns about some missing narcotics. She claims that the missing drugs were just rumors with no hard evidence. For that reason, she did not report it to local authorities. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
  3. Local police are treating the death that was reported on Tuesday night at a Snellville gas station as a homicide case. No other information has been released, including the identity of the person and the cause of death. (Atlanta Journal Constitution)
  4. Suwannee and Duluth police departments have been participating in a food drive contest. Even though our precinct lost, the two departments have already collected over 7,000 food items that were donated by their residents. Our police department collected items for the Hands of Christ Duluth Co-Op Ministry and the Suwanee Police Department collected for the North Gwinnett Co-Op Ministry. (CBS46 News Atlanta)
  5. GOP legislator, Sen. Clint Dixon, has dropped his surprise bills to change Gwinnett government until the next session. Earlier this month, he proposed several changes to our local government including depoliticizing our school board. (Atlanta Journal Constitution)
