Here are the top 3 stories in Duluth today:
- The Gwinnett Police Department's SWAT team was at the Gwinnett Pointe Apartments in Norcross where there was an active barricade. A person barricaded themselves inside with a gun, and police urged residents to avoid the area until the incident was resolved. There is currently no update on the situation. (CBS46 News Atlanta)
- A boy got a fresh haircut due to a Duluth barber's creativity and compassion. 6-year-old Jackson has autism, and it has been difficult to get his haircut due to sensitivity issues. However, barber Ree decided to play a game with Jackson where he had to protect the Mario on his shirt while the two of them moved around the barbershop and Ree cut his hair. (News Nation Now)

Doing a "Dry January" or just looking for a flavorful alternative to regular cocktails? Here's a suggestion: try a non-alcoholic drink from our partners at Betera. Created by an award-winning chef from natural botanicals, Betera's drinks come in 3 flavors — Ginger-Orange, Elderflower-Lime and Rhubarb-Hibiscus. We tried Ginger-Orange, and it was excellent — lightly effervescent, floral with a hint of bitterness and the sippability of a cocktail.
Betera is offering readers of the Daily a 15% discount on their first order: use PATCH15 at checkout. Highly recommended — you can try Betera here.
