Huge Drug Seizure + Target Supply Chain Center + Vaccine Pop-up

Happy Saturday, people of Duluth! Let's get you all caught up on what's happening locally to start today off on an informed note.

Here are the top stories in Duluth today:

  1. 200 kilograms of methamphetamine was seized in both Hall and Gwinnett Counties leading to the arrests of three men for drug trafficking. Officials also found $45,000 USD when they were searching the sight.(11Alive.com WXIA)
  2. Gwinnett County has voted to spend $45 million USD on renovations and upgrades for multiple administration centers in the county. It is unclear the start and end time for this construction. (Atlanta Journal Constitution)
  3. Target is now set to open a nearly 400,000 square foot supply chain facility off of Riverside Drive. The mayor of Lawrenceville is excited to there positive outcome this week bring to Gwinnett County's economic impact and labor force.(Gwinnettdailypost.com)
  4. Jackson EMC Foundation awards $50K in grants to multiple well-known agencies serving Gwinnett County residents. The grant program is intended to flood money back into the communities they serve. (Gwinnettdailypost.com)
  5. The Gwinnett-Newton-Rockdale Health Department is set up to host two pop-up vaccine clinics in our neighbor city, Suwanee. The event will take place in town hall on August 26 for those still needing to get vaccinated.(Atlanta Journal Constitution)
