Here are the top three stories in Duluth today:
- A second-grade teacher in Gwinnett County has been chosen as a finalist in Georgia's 2023 Teacher of the Year contest. Katlyn Blume of Sugar Hill Elementary Schools was chosen based on the strength of her essay responses, evaluated by a panel of judges that included teachers, administrators, and past Teacher of the Year winners. Blume will undergo a series of formal interviews for the next round, and the winner is set to be announced on Apr. 30. (Patch)
- Gwinnett County police are looking for help in identifying a man who pulled a gun on a taxi driver. The carjacking happened on Jan. 25 around 11:45 p.m., and police just released a photograph of the alleged attacker. (11Alive.com WXIA)

From my notebook:
- The Atlanta Gladiators celebrated their ninth straight win tying the all-franchise record. The local team narrowly beat out the South Carolina Stingrays 4-3 in an exciting game on Sunday. Onwards and upwards! (Instagram)
- The Gwinnett County Public Library is celebrating Disability Awareness Month and is asking library-goers to be mindful of how they post captions on social media. When captioning, you may be tempted to edit for clarity, but it's really important to give a direct transcription of what's being said so that the hard of hearing have the most accurate representation of the video!
