Here are the top stories in Duluth today:

  1. Former Atlanta Falcon, Warrick Dunn, partnered with Aaron's to help furnish a new Gwinnett Habitat for Humanity home for single mother, Jomayra Fortura. (Gwinnettdailypost.com)
  2. There were four male suspects arrested this past weekend on quite a few different child exploitation related incidents. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
  3. Gwinnett property tax bills will be mailed to homeowners on August 14. They will be due October 15. The option to pay online started Wednesday, August 11. (Atlanta Journal Constitution)
  4. The City of Duluth has scheduled a new Connect Duluth Facebook live that will feature Mayor Nancy Harris and other community leaders. This is an effort to try to connect all the citizens with their leaders and to discuss their thoughts about the community. (Atlanta Journal Constitution)
  5. Amongst a lot of controversy, some parents are criticizing some Gwinnett school leaders for attending a mask-optional event without wearing masks. Some parents are taking legal action in rebuttal to the mandate. (CBS46 News Atlanta)
  6. The local Office Depot donated 1,000 school supply-stuffed book bags to all Meadowcreek Elementary School students on Monday. (Gwinnettdailypost.com)
  7. Gwinnett County is calling on volunteers for the University of Georgia insect pollinator census. If you volunteer, all you have to do is watch bees pollinate from flower to flower for 15 minutes and record your findings online. (On Common Ground News)
