June Business Fire in Duluth Ruled an Arson
Video surveillance shows two people, possibly teenagers, starting and fanning the fire that heavily damaged the office building.
DULUTH, GA -- Two arsonists, possible teens, intentionally set the fire that heavily damaged a Duluth office building last month, fire investigators say.
Gwinnett County Fire & Emergency Services has ruled the fire, set on June 25 at about 7:40 p.m., to be an arson.
Newly released surveillance video shows two unknown individuals, who appear to be young, setting fire to an umbrella and picnic table on the back deck of the business, at 3635 Peachtree Industrial Blvd.

The video shows the fire smolder for an unspecified amount of time, before erupting and consuming an overhang and spreading to the roof of the building.
"Fire Investigators are trying to identify the individuals responsible and establish an exact motive in the case," said Gwinnett Fire Capt. Tommy Rutledge.

Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke and fire showing from the office building and flames spreading to nearby brush and woods. The fire caused heavy damage to the building and its contents and scorched the surrounding woods.
The business was closed at the time of the fire and there were no injuries reported.
