Mall Murder Arrest Made: Police Say It Was Her Boyfriend

Police say the woman who's body was found in a vacant vendor space in the food court of Gwinnett Place Mall, was killed by her boyfriend.

DULUTH, GA — An arrest has been made in the murder of a woman who's body was found Dec. 21, 2017, in a vacant vendor space in the food court of Gwinnett Place Mall, according to the Gwinnett County Police Department.

Homicide Unit detectives have charged Emmett Davis, 21, with aggravated assault and felony murder. Davis was Silling Man’s boyfriend at the time of the murder. Detectives believe they had been living together in hotels near Gwinnett Place Mall during the period she was reported missing by her family.

Davis left the state following the murder, but detectives learned he had recently returned and was living in Lawrenceville. On June 14, detectives obtained warrants for Davis and a search warrant for his home. Davis was taken into custody without incident. He is currently in custody at the Gwinnett County Detention Center without bond.
