Here are the top three stories in Duluth today:

  1. With the current set of Atlanta metro area code numbers set to run out by 2023, the Georgia Public Service Commission will be introducing a new one beginning next month: 943. The new area code will be superimposed over the region that is currently served by the 404, 470, 678, and 770 area codes. According to the Georgia Public Service Commission, 943 will be available starting Mar. 15. (CBS 46)
  2. Duluth-based AGCO Corporation has been named by Zacks Equity Research Shares as the Bull of the Day. AGCO was founded in 1990, is headquartered in Duluth, and is a leading manufacturer and distributor of agricultural equipment and replacement parts. According to Zacks Equity Research Shares, AGCO is performing well despite global supply chain issues and it shows in this recent quarter. (Yahoo! Finance)
  3. Are hybrid schools the future of education? A former Duluth High School teacher thinks so. In an opinion piece in the Atlanta Journal Constitution, author and education researcher Eric Wearne, who formerly taught English and debate in Duluth, writes that there is "now even greater interest in hybrid schools because of their flexibility, prompted by the pandemic and immense employee satisfaction with remote and hybrid work." Read the full article to see why Wearne believes a combination of in-person and at-home learning is best for students moving forward. (Atlanta Journal Constitution)
