First, today's weather:
Breezy and cooler. High: 50 Low: 29.
Here are the top three stories in Duluth today:
- On Thursday, the Georgia House of Representatives voted in favor of 95-61 on a bill to make Gwinnett County Board of Education elections nonpartisan. Following this decision, it's up to Gov. Brian Kemp to sign the bill into law. Then, the names of school board candidates would appear on voter ballots without party affiliation and school board elections would be held during the primary elections. (The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
- Mark your calendars! Gwinnett County is holding a career hiring event next Friday, Feb. 25. The Gwinnett County Government's "Career From Here" hiring event will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Gas South Convention Center, 6400 Sugarloaf Parkway, Duluth. Attendees can network with current employees from several departments and apply onsite for available positions in a variety of fields. (On Common Ground News)
