Here are the top stories in Duluth today:

  1. Two high school student-athletes have been arrested in connection to an Alpharetta man's murder. The man was shot and killed at the Collingwood Apartment Homes on Kimball Bridge Road on October 14. The two young men are being held in the Fulton County Jail on charges of attempted armed robbery and murder. They appeared in court for the first time on Thursday. The judge denied them bond.   2. Some Gwinnett residents participated in a Walk to End Alzheimer's. The event was held on November 13 in the Suwannee Town Green. The participants honored those who have been affected by Alzheimer's with a Promise Garden ceremony which is a mission-focused experience that signifies solidarity in the fight against the disease. The colors of the Promise Garden flowers represent people's connection to Alzheimer's and their personal reasons to end the disease. (Gwinnettdailypost.com)
  3. Gwinnett County Public Schools have updated its mask guidance for the upcoming second semester. It will start considering community transmission of the virus and will make a decision on mask mandates based upon that. (Press Release Desk )
  4. The Gwinnett school district is planning to use metal detectors at its monthly board meetings from this point forward. This is due to several parent protests that have become more violent in nature over the past few months. (Atlanta Journal Constitution)
  5. There are now several cameras around town that are clocking speeders in Gwinnett County school zones. Please use caution when driving near school campuses. (11Alive.com WXIA)
