🌱 Paid Parental Leave For Gwinnett County Employees + Hire Home Pros

The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Duluth.

(Patch Media)

Hey, neighbors! Nicole Tess Kazora here with your brand-new edition of the Duluth Daily.

First, today's weather:

Cool with clouds and sunshine. High: 54 Low: 35.

Here are the top three stories in Duluth today:

  1. Gwinnett County is now offering all county employees four weeks of paid parental leave after the birth, adoption, or foster placement of a child. Employees must be employed full-time and have worked for the county for at least one year to be eligible. The mandate does not intend to impose a policy on private businesses. (The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
  2. Gwinnett police are asking the public to stay on the lookout for a man who disappeared in December. According to authorities, Logan McCaskill Jr. traveled on Dec. 30, 2021 with his father to make deliveries for the Allied Moving Company in Lawrenceville, about 25 minutes outside of Duluth. When McCaskill and his father arrived, McCaskill's father went inside to pick up the paperwork and when the father returned to the truck, McCaskill was gone. McCaskill allegedly left behind his medication and is not familiar with the area. (Patch)
