(Patch Media)

Get on up, Duluth! Here's everything you need to know to get this Wednesday started off right.

First, today's weather:

Mostly sunny. High: 56 Low: 44.

Here are the top stories in Duluth today:

  1. The Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce Multi-Chamber Mixer is happening on December 15 at the new expansion of the Gas South Arena. This event is held to try new foods and beverages while also mingling with business professionals from the Chamber of Commerce. You must register to attend this event. (GlobalAtlanta)
  2. Gwinnett County is about to open another glass recycling program at Pinckney Park. This is going to be the county's second location for glass recycling. Hopefully, there are more locations to come! (On Common Ground News)
  3. A bipartisan group that is within the Gwinnett legislative delegation is in support of the expansion of county commission into six districts. The expansion has become a hot topic surrounding the redistricting of the Gwinnett County commission in light of a surprise bill introduced by state Sen. Clint Dixon last month to expand the number of commission districts from four to nine.(Gwinnettdailypost.com)
  4. Gwinnett County has opened its new warming stations as the Metro Atlanta area is approaching near-freezing temps over the course of the next few days and weeks. If you or someone you know is in need of warmth this season, the nearest warming station is located at Shorty Howell Park across the street from Walmart. (11Alive.com WXIA)
  5. Two men have been arrested quite a few weeks after a man was found shot to death at a Gwinnett County gas station. The man was found on November 17 in a Citgo Parking lot. Though no details were initially released about the investigation, police were able to identify the two men they believe were connected with the murder. Both men were arrested separately this month. The first was Thi Sheik Barrow of Snellville who was arrested in Conyers and booked into the Gwinnett County Detention Center. Barrow is facing charges of felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. The second man, Dreeonnie Hart of Lawrenceville, was arrested earlier in the month. Hart was taken into custody by Gwinnett deputies and was charged with conspiracy to commit a robbery and party to a crime. ( The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
