Here are the top three stories in Duluth today:
- An Uber driver was killed after his car was hit by an oncoming train at a Duluth railroad crossing early Thursday morning. According to Duluth Police investigators the vehicle became stuck while crossing the tracks. The Uber passenger saw the train coming and got out of the car while the driver remained inside attempting to move the vehicle. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
- Duluth is one of a handful of Metro Atlanta cities to get a new area code as of Mar. 15. The 943 area code had previously been approved by the Georgia Public Service Commission for telephone customers with area codes 770, 678, 470, and 404. The 943 number will be assigned to new phone services or additional lines. (Alpharetta-Roswell Herald)
