5 Dunwoody Teens Accused Of Breaking Into Cars Charged

The group faces theft, gun and drug charges in connection with the car break-ins.

DUNWOODY, GA — Authorities announced Tuesday the charges the five teens accused of breaking into several cars are facing. The break-ins happened Thursday at Sterling Apartments and Peachford Hospital.

Dunwoody Police previously said the teens were driving a stolen car, had two stolen guns on them and had broken into at least 16 cars in the area. They were seen actively breaking into cars at Peachford Hospital when officers arrived on scene, police said.

Four of the teens are 17-years-old and the fifth teen is 15-years-old, police said. They are each charged with 23 counts of entering auto.

Other charges include theft by receiving, possession of tools for the commission of crime, possession of a firearm during a felony, Violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act-marijuana, criminal trespass and obstruction, police said.

All but one teen was taken to the DeKalb County Jail at the time of their arrests. The 15-year-old was taken to a youth detention center.
