Police in nearby Brookhaven say that they have arrested a suspect in the armed robberies of two gas stations and a Wells Fargo bank, crimes which caught the attention of the FBI.
Dale Hawkins, 21, of Lilburn was arrested on Tuesday in connection with the robbery of a Brookhaven Chevron. While investigating the Chevron armed robbery, Brookhaven police were able to find enough evidence to link Hawkins with the armed robbery of a Shell station in unincorporated DeKalb County and the bank in Lilburn.

Before Hawkins was identified, the FBI released surveillance camera footage of him inside the bank, and dubbed him and another man “Baby Face Bandits” due to their clean shaven, youthful looks. The other “Bandit” is suspected of robbing a BB&T on Clairmont Road in Chamblee. This “Bandit” is not in custody as of Thursday.
Police said that information taken from the gas stations allowed investigators to identify Hawkins as their man, and further detective work linked Hawkins to the vehicle seen leaving both gas station robberies.

Hawkins was visited by detectives at his Lilburn home on Tuesday, and was found to be in possession of items which linked him to each of the armed robberies. He was taken in for an interview, where he confessed to the crimes.
He is being held at the Gwinnett County jail for the Lilburn Police Department, but Brookhaven police said that they will have armed robbery charges of their own to file against Hawkins shortly.
