FBI Seeks 'Baby Face Bandits' Responsible for Bank Heists in Gwinnett, DeKalb

The FBI is on the hunt for a suspect or suspects who pulled off a pair of bank robberies in the area on Tuesday.

The robberies were reported on the same day in north DeKalb and south Gwinnett, the bureau said in a press release entitled “Baby Face Bandits.”

According to the FBI, a suspect described as a white male with a slender build wearing a dark hoodie and tan baseball cap walked into the BB&T on Clairmont Road in Chamblee at 4:12 p.m. and handed the teller a note demanding money. He left the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Around 30 minutes later, a suspect described as a slender white male in his 20’s standing 5’6” - 5’10” tall wearing black jeans, black hoodie, and a black UGA baseball cap walked into the Wells Fargo on Lawrenceville Highway in the Lilburn area and handed the teller a note demanding money.

Special Agent Stephen Emmett told Patch that the FBI is currently operating under the assumption that the two robberies were carried out by two different individuals, despite having near-identical modus operandi, due to the time constraints involved. Emmett said that the bureau is hoping the public can look at the above photographs and help identify the robber or robbers.

Wells Fargo Bank is offering a $5,000 reward for information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person who robbed their bank, the FBI said.
