Citizens Police Academy Now Accepting Applications
Here's your chance to learn about police work from the men and women who protect Dunwoody every day.

DUNWOODY, GA -- The citizens police academy is now accepting applications for its seventh class.
The Dunwoody Citizens’ Police Academy allows citizens to participate in an up-close study of police operations.
This free program is a 10-week course will begin on Tuesday, March 22, 2016. It will be held every Tuesday from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Academy classes will be held at Dunwoody Police Headquarters. Graduation will be held on Monday, May 23, 2016, 6:00 p.m. at the City Council Meeting inside Dunwoody Municipal Court.

Some of the units covered are:
- Community Outreach
- North Metro SWAT
- ChatComm 9-1-1 Center
- DeKalb County Jail
- Criminal Investigations
- Uniform Patrol
The program is free to Dunwoody residents and Dunwoody business owners 21 years of age or older. Applicants must be willing to submit to a criminal history check and a driving record check prior to being accepted as a Citizen’s Police Academy student.
