Dunwoody Police Want You to Learn How to Survive an Active Shooting Incident

A graphic video from the Los Angeles Sheriffs Department offers tips on how you can survive this terrifying situation.

Dunwoody and Brookhaven police are urging citizens to watch a graphic video on what to do in an active shooter situation.

“In light of recent active shooter incidents across the country, those involving terrorists as well as other types of shooters, [we] have located a professionally produced video on the subject that should be helpful for our citizens,” according to a recent post on the Dunwoody Police Facebook page.

The video was produced by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, and has an accompanying website.

The department said it participates in various training exercises, and has several exercises planned for 2016 in Dunwoody and with the DeKalb County Police Department.

“In addition, we participate in a multi-jurisdictional SWAT team with the Johns Creek Police Department, the Sandy Springs Police Department and the Brookhaven Police Department so we have the necessary resources to respond to any critical incident,” the department said.
