Dunwoody Security Guard Shot After Couple Fails To Pay Restaurant Bill

DUNWOODY, GA — A security guard is in the hospital after being shot Saturday while working at the Sage Woodfire Tavern, Dunwoody Police said.

The shooting came after a man and woman skipped out on their bill around 10:45 p.m. at the Ashford Dunwoody Road restaurant, police said.

The security guard stopped the couple in the parking lot and asked them to pay for their meal and an altercation followed, police said.

The man shot the security guard in the hand and shoulder, police said.

The security guard was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in stable condition.

It is unknown if there are any charges in the case.

The investigation remains active.
