Jake and His Owner Are Reunited

Jake the dog is back at home with his owner, say Dunwoody Police.

The wandering dog was picked up Sunday morning running in traffic and Dunwoody Police asked the public to help spread the word and find his owners.

The hound-type dog was found about 10:15 a.m. on North Peachtree Road.

The dog does not have a chip. A city worker has paid for the dog’s check-up, antibiotic booster, and full vaccinations for the dog.

Facebook readers chimed in with leads and offered to house Jake temporarily while his owner was located.

About 6 p.m. Sunday night Taylor Bauerle posted on the department’s Facebook page: “I am his owner, thank you all so much for the help!”

The pooch is now home.
