Police Arrest Fraudulent Solicitors Claiming to Raise Money for Soldiers

About a dozen complaints came in from Mt. Vernon Road residents.

DUNWOODY, GA -- Police have arrested seven people accused of fraudulently soliciting for a fictitious military organization.

About a dozen complaints came from several neighborhoods in the area of Mt. Vernon Road, according to police.

“The solicitors claim to represent members of our nations armed forces and are collecting monetary donations to further their efforts,” said a police statement. “This sounds like a great organization that each of us would enjoy donating towards. Unfortunately, the solicitors picked the wrong city to attempt their scam. A Google search showed numerous reviews where the organization is identified as fraudulent.”
