2013 Year of the Boulevard Block Party

The City of Atlanta Councilman Kwanza Hall and Fulton County Commissioner Joan Garner and many other community leaders came out to participate in the Year of the Boulevard annual Block Party. This event began in 2012 when a cry for support for families in the "Old Fourth Ward" youths and seniors felt they were neglected by their city. Hall sent out an open invite to the community to participate in Back to School giveaways. There were plenty of vendors out showing their support like the Atlanta-Fulton County Public Library mobile unit, Atlanta Zoo, Grady Healthcare, Atlanta Hawks, and lots of games and rides for kids of all ages. I always think it's great to have positive events for your community. I sometimes get bogged down with the negative press that comes with the O4W name. I've been a resident in the area for a few years but a native of the city. People like Kwanza Hall and Joan Garner will always receive a thumbs up from me with what they are doing with my community.
